Let me introduce myself. My name is Helen Gaidukova. I was born in Nikolaev, South Ukraine. Since my childhood I was interested in drama, pantomime and my ambition was to became an actress. I also wrote poetry.
In 1984 I went to an art school in Odessa. I took lessons in drawing and painting from the patriarch of Ukrainian avant-garde Oleg Sokolov. Since 1989 I have seriously devoted myself to sculpture.
At present I live in Nikolaev and work in the field of graphic art, painting and sculpture.
In visual arts I prefer portrait and composition. But I am also interested in other genres, such as landscape and still life.
I care for the inner life of man and try to express it as best as I possibly can.
I have taken part in a number of exhibitions both in my hometown and in Kiev. I fill orders for portraits of adults children from life and photographs. My pictures of contemporaries in historical costumes draw much attention, particularly after two personal exhibitions. Some of my works are in Poland, Greece and the USA. I write verses in Russian and have published a collection of poems illustrated by myself.
